At the end of December, I had the opportunity to travel to Indianapolis to represent TECH at URBANA22. URBANA is a college student missions conference and is part of the ministry of Intervarsity. It is held every 3 years. The purpose of the conference is to challenge young adults to engage the Gospel through missions and service. As part of that challenge, mission organizations from around the globe have the opportunity to engage with the students in the exhibition hall. TECH has had a presence at the conference since 2012 and this was my second time attending.
The conference was more low-key than prior, but we still had the opportunity to share with the students the vision and mission of TECH. There were many who were deeply encouraged that a ministry like TECH exists where they can utilize the skills God has given them to serve the body. God only knows what will come of those discussions, but we pray that the Lord would use that week to move some to full time missions.
The other joy while in the exhibit hall was to visit with some of the nearly 200 other ministries represented there. We had the opportunity to share stories and learn how God's people have used the creativity and skills He gave them to serve the Kingdom around the world. I am amazed and encouraged by the work that going forth, and I look forward to how the Lord will use it to His glory!
