The Last First- Kindergarten Edition

We recently celebrated sending the kids back to school! Liam and Hannah were very excited about activities, friends, (maybe less so about homework), and overall ready for the year to start. Liam started middle school and will likely be taller than me this time next year. He told me he likes this way better than elementary. Hannah is in the oldest class in her hallway and she loved feeling like the big fish in a little pond. They had great first days and just beamed with confidence.

Ranen struggled these last couple weeks leading up to school and got nervous about all the new things. Meet the teacher was a great experience for her and helped calm her nerves. Today, my sweet little caboose walked into school, sat down at her desk, and thrived. She jumped (literally) into the car and started telling me all about her day and how she made friends and loves her teacher!

She is my last baby to start school. I am so proud of her and overjoyed she had a first day. This is a day I have been pondering for a long time. Although I certainly do miss her at home, I can honestly say that I am so glad she gets to start school.

And so I begin a different phase of life as well. I both have regrets and wish for the days of all my littles to do over perfectly and also I know I did my best and truly loved the time I had. Now I look forward to what God has in store for me.

Blessings upon all of you who have just sent a student back to school. To those who school at home and in the world. To those who sent a student away to school. To those who are past the days of school and remember like it was yesterday. To those who teach and love all the kids like their own. And to those who cheer everyone else’s kids along the way. Blessings to all of you. You all amaze and inspire me.
