Last summer Katie and I had multiple discussions about her taking on a roll at the Mothers Day Out that all of our kids have been a part of. It was always her thought that it would be a good fit for her and our family once all the kids were in school full time. There were multiple openings after several years of very few openings. The greatest challenge was that Ranen was had one year left so the opportunity felt like it was a year too early.
After much prayer and consideration we decided that it would be a challenge from a family coordination standpoint but would be a good move for us. Katie anticipated enjoying teaching the kids and the experience being one of growth and learning for her. We knew that for this year it was potentially too many irons in the fire. We also knew that there might not be any openings the following year. We were correct on most of that.
What we did not anticipate was the physical and mental exhaustion that would culminate this spring. It left us feeling drained. Things we wanted to do, needed to do often fell by the wayside. This blog was one of them. We are sorry for the long silence on this page. We want to use this page to communicate with you and let you know how God is working in our lives and at TECH, and we have not taken that opportunity these past few months. We look forward to picking that mantle up this summer.
Thank you for your patience, prayers, and support for us during this season. However, as the spring has zipped by in a blur, we present a summary of what we have been up to during this time in 2022.
Eric has visited multiple sites in the region, the furthest of which was a day trip to a town just north of Fort Worth.
Katie and Eric had the opportunity to attend a Dallas Stars game for the first time in years (how many years? There is debate!)
We treated the kids to two games at a local hockey team
Ranen and Hannah both had birthdays
All three kids participated in Upwards soccer in April
Eric and Liam went on a school trip to Houston to visit NASA and the Natural History Musuem
Ranen graduated from her mother's day out program.
Katie completed her first year teaching!
It has been a wild ride. We are glad for the season and regret that we let it get away from us. Look for more updates from us in the near future.
