Retreat!

This week was hard. I had been away from my house for the majority of the past couple weeks which meant there was extra laundry and chores to do. We had a busy week with lots of deadlines or events. Aside from that, we had a small incident with the fire department where Ranen learned what the little red boxes are for. (Everything was fine, there was no fire. Just a very curious 2 year old who was just tall enough to reach.)

I just wanted to be done. I felt like a failure for both the tasks I was trying to complete and a parent for not watching closer. On Thursday, right after the fire department left, I was blessed by a speaker at our Mops group. She spoke to our group about the quickness of seasons. It was just what I needed to hear.

Then this weekend, I attended a women's retreat with our home church. The worship, the women who shared, the impromptu conversation, and the fellowship that occurred was a salve for me. It was healing to hear stories, play games, share tough moments, cry, and pray together. I am officially on what one of my youth pastors called the "church high".

Now glory be to God! By His mighty power at work within us, He is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. Ephesians 3:20
