I have shared a few times on this blog about the work at Longview Christian Church. This is the first project that I signed as an architect. The church is also about ten minutes from my house, so it has been exciting to watch this construction progress as the plans come to life. The church finished Phase 1 just before Easter, which we wrote about for our May update (May Update 2023). Phase 2, the remodel of the sanctuary platform, was completed a few weeks ago.
As a brief refresher, the church experienced flooding from burst pipes in 2021. The resulting clean-up required abatement of asbestos. The church took the opportunity to reimagine the possibilities of the existing building and how to utilize the space in a way that reflected their values as a community of Believers. TECH worked closely with the church and the contractor to bring that vision to life.
As I said in the May update, as I have interacted with various members of the congregation, they have expressed how the design has exceeded their expectations. They have related how some, upon entering the space for the first time were brought to tears, others were speechless. I have been told that the building is used frequently throughout the week and of their vision for how it can be used in the future to minister to LCC and to the greater Longview community.
Below is a series of before and after pictures to show the transformation. Thank you for your prayers during this process. Pray also that Longview Christian Church would use this space to glorify God for years to come!
