Growing up, we all have memories and places that are meaningful and important. Some are close and we can revisit later in life. Others are. or seem, a long way off. Living many states from my (Eric) childhood home and the parts of the country where I spent my formative years, finding the opportunity to share those places and experiences with my family has sometimes been a challenge. When the opportunity presents itself I am eager to take them on the adventure.
Our travels this summer took us into the neighborhood of the Springfield, Missiouri. When I was younger I spent several summers in the Springfield area with my grandparents traveling. We would explore the region when we could including the St Louis Arch and Silver Dollar City. However, one of my clearest memories involves a restaurant. A place of legends. A place that could be the Ozarks Mecca for hungry teens. A place that will definitely always throw you a roll. I speak of none other than Lambert's, home of the throwed rolls.
Knowing we would be in Springfield I could not pass up the opportunity to introduce Katie and the kids to perhaps my favorite restaurant on the planet. It has been 25 years since I had been, but the atmosphere was just as fun as I remember and the food (even the flying rolls) was just as good and bountiful. Katie and the kids loved it! Hannah even caught a roll! This was a fun stop along the way and one of the highlights of the trip.
