As you may know, I was scheduled to take the fifth of six exams for architecture licensure on Monday, August 30th. It would turn out that appointment was not meant to be.
There are some ways that technology has made our lives more simple or, perhaps, easier. However, when it goes off the rails, it can be very frustrating. On Monday I logged into the online testing portal and spent the next three hours attempting to check in and start the test. By 11:30, it became clear that the test was not going to happen. Most of the issues appear to be on the the testing center side, but it is hard to tell.
By noon I was on the phone with the testing center attempting to log a "testing event" for their records and then I called the exam board to file another "testing event" for their records.
Not sure why things went south on Monday. Am I disappointed to not have this test behind me? Yes, but I pray God was glorified in my dealings with those at the call centers.
I have been issued a credit to retake the test which I will schedule in the next few days. I have a different test scheduled already on October 4th. I will keep you posted as the journey continues.
