At the end of May, we all finished school and the various spring sports. This spring was a little crazier than years past because we had 3 kids in 3 sports. Here is a breakdown of the end of the year by person:
Katie: I finished my third year of teaching 3-year-olds at the Mother's Day Out. The kids did great at their end of year program, and I only cried a little when my babies from last year crossed the stage in little caps and gowns. This day also marked the end of my time at the Mother's Day Out. As you may have read in the "May Update" post, I have taken a job at the girls' school as a second-grade teacher! It is truly bittersweet as I loved my time at the MDO. And I am looking forward to a new challenge and kids to love.
Liam: Liam finished school strong this year and enjoyed meeting new friends at his new school. He was able to try golf through school this spring. This was a group of junior high kids that were learning golf skills but didn't go to competitions. I got precisely zero pictures of him at golf, but he enjoyed learning more about the sport and hopes to continue with the sport again.
Hannah: Hannah decided to play soccer again this spring. Her team was able to win every game! They did a great job at cheering each other on and she looks forward to next year when she will move up a division to play on a whole soccer field. Hannah wrapped up this school year with excellent remarks from her teachers. Her favorite thing from this year was a speaking/singing role in the 4th grade play.
Ranen: Ranen decided to play softball this year and had a great first season. Her team
improved over the season and won second place in her division. At school, Ranen ended strong and greatly improved her reading skills this year. Ranen favorite part of school was science class.
Eric: Eric is steady as ever working hard to partner with all sorts of ministries to further the kingdom of God. He just got home from a trip to Washington state...more on that in another post! We were able to celebrate Eric's birthday with a date night. It was wonderful even though it poured rain all evening.
Although we all enjoy school and the schedule and structure it brings, we are also looking forward to a fun summer filled with family, camps, and travel. We pray this summer to be a time of refreshment and refilling of our cups.
