Anyone who has ever traveled with a group, especially when that group includes children, knows the challenge of finding places that everyone will enjoy. When we take these adventure trips we try to eat at places we don't have at home. In this post we cover the successful food stories:
Liam, who by far is our best eater, also really likes hamburgers. It is his go to order at any restaurant we visit. On this trip, which lasted 29 days, he ate 30- yes 30- hamburgers. His favorite was from Skirted Heifer in Colorado Springs (which was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives).
A few years ago a local Colorado pastor introduced Eric and me to a place we now love and try to visit every chance we get: Bird Dog BBQ. We had the opportunity to introduce the kids but were hesitant because we did not want to pay for really good food and have it go to waste (parents can you relate?). We are glad we took the risk because they loved it! Two thumbs up from the whole family!
There were a few meals where we were in unfamiliar territory and it fell to Eric to look for places to eat on the fly. This year in that scenario he was 5 for 5 in picking places that everybody loved. Those places were Skirted Heifer in Colorado Springs, Midtown Grill in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Dexter's Pub in Madison, Wisconsin, Sweet Basil in Franklin, Wisconsin, and Oscar's Frozen Custard in Franklin, Wisconsin
