Just to be clear, wedding bells are not ringing in the Livingston household. This edition is going meta; this entry into the Loop is all about the Livingston Loop. We will cover a brief history of the Loop and what we will be posting here.
Some of you may not know that I (Eric) served at TECH from 2005 to 2007. During that time the Livingston Loop was a quarterly newsletter to keep prayer and financial partners in "the loop" on various projects and life events. While some were mailed via USPS, most were sent by email about once every three months. The first image is of one of these publications
In anticipation of rejoining TECH in 2017, Katie and I resurrected the Livingston Loop in January. The formatting of the email was tweaked, but the mission stayed the same: to keep you in the loop of the ministry God had given us. In March, we added the online presence in the form of this blog. We are constantly looking for ways to communicate well with you. On the Loop we hope to share with you many amazing things that God is doing, but we promise to focus on the following:
Mission over Money: As a full-time faith based missionary family, fund raising is an important part of what we do, but we do not see the Loop as fund raising tool. We want to share our lives not just our financial needs. We want to encourage you by how God is working. Today we are at 80% of our monthly need. Yes, we need more funds to meet our goal. But prayer for our ministry is more important. We could always use more support, please pray for that. But constant pleas for money needs are not what we want to share with you.
Concise over Content: This is a long post, most will be much shorter. We want to share everything with you but know that is impractical. We want you to actually read these. So we will pick the stories we think you will most enjoy. If ever you wish to hear more, please feel free to contact us.
Effect over Affect: We certainly want to affect your lives and wish for you to join us on this adventure through prayer and giving, but our goal is not a call to action but a call to praise our Father for the great things He has done. If we can effect you this way, our job here will be done.
We look forward to sharing this journey with you.
Blessings
Eric and Katie
