Welcome to the Loop! We will periodically share stories with you from the front lines of serving His purposes through architecture and planning. For this first edition, we want to share about trusting our God to provide the financial support needed.
i (Eric) was recently studying the Gospel of John. There is much to be discovered in this Gospel, but what the Spirit kept reminding me of is how Jesus’s life defied the expectations of His followers. From his birth to His death, from His ministry to His miracles, they struggled to comprehend and accept that this is what the Messiah would be like. In His own earthly life, few believed beyond the next miracle.
In some ways, this is an apt example of our own lives and the ministries God gives us. Although our lives are fraught with challenges that are wrought of our own sinful choices, the truth remains that what He has called us to seldom plays out as we expect. Yet He has called us to follow Him, to trust Him where He leads. Rich Mullins wrote a song titled “Sometimes by Step.” The message is simple: we follow God through this life one step at a time. The chorus concludes with the following words of wisdom:
“I will seek You in the morning / And I will learn to walk in Your ways / And step by step You'll lead me / And I will follow You all of my days”
The journey of joining TECH has often been a moment by moment, one foot in front of the other process. From the beginning we have trusted that God would guide us through to the next step, trusted that He would provide the necessary financial monthly gifts from churches and individuals to move into full time service with TECH. He has faithfully provided! In roughly 6 months he has amazingly provided almost 60% of our goal! In talking with the leadership of TECH, to make the transition to full time ministry service we need to reach at least 80% of our monthly financial goal. We are excited to join the team in His timing, but we are eager to see how the Lord will provide for this need.
To that end, the Lord has laid a challenge upon our hearts: Over the next 30 days we are trusting Him to provide $1,000 in new monthly pledges from churches and individuals.
